Greetings from CADR, RGNUL!
We are pleased to announce the launch of the ‘CADR Webinar Series‘, whereby we will be hosting sessions involving discussions on various topics of ADR and consociated issues.
We begin with the first discussion on 9 April 2020 on the topic – ‘Scrutinising recent developments in Domestic Arbitration‘. Mr. Tariq Khan, Principal Associate, Advani & Co. and Mr. Anubhab Sarkar, Partner, Triumvir Law discuss the latest developments in light of 3 cases –
HCC v. Union of India 2019 SCC Online SC 1520,
Eastman Perkins v. HSCC (India) Ltd. 2019 SCC Online SC 1517, and
BGS SGS Soma v. NHPC 2019 SCC Online SC 1585.
Thereafter, we will host a session on ‘LLM in International Arbitration – The Process and Anecdotes‘. We will be joined by Ms. Ruby Panchal, Lecturer at JGLS, Sonipat, Mr. Sai Anukaran, LLM ’19 from Queen Mary University of Law, and Mr. Sriram Srinivasan, LLM ’20 from Sciences Po, Paris. The session will be aimed at not only describing the application process involved in pursuing an LLM, but also determining the contributive value of it and interesting anecdotes from the experiences of the speakers. Join us for this session on 11 April 2020.
On the 13th we have Mr. Anubhab Sarkar conduct a session on ‘Fair and Equitable Treatment in Investment Arbitration‘. This session is in line with CADR’s focus on the niche area of Investment Arbitration. Thereafter, he will be joined by Mr. Tariq Khan to conduct a joint session on ‘Practicalities of Cross-Examination in Arbitration‘. We are certain that these experienced practitioners will contribute immensely to this session.
On the 15th we will have Mr. Anubhab Sarkar conduct a session on an issue that will be of much interest to all lawyers – and beyond. What are the protections in International Law which can hold States accountable for breaches of their obligations owed to the international community? Join us in the fourth session: ‘COVID 19 and Chinese Liability – Is there a Case under International Law?‘ for this interesting discussion. [EDIT: This session has been postponed to the 16th of April. The same is due to unforeseeable circumstances beyond our control and we regret any inconvenience caused.]
We are ecstatic to host the speakers and look forward to having them with us.
The Webinars are free to attend subject to completion of Registration. The Webinars will be organized via Zoom and a meeting ID will be sent upon confirmation.
We look forward to this initiative and to provide you with discourses which are contemporary, relevant, and build capacity.
